Sliema Beach Soccer clinch national title after thrilling win over Ħamrun Spartans

Sliema Beach Soccer emerged victorious in the Maltese National Beach Soccer Championship, edging out Ħamrun Spartans in a thrilling 7–6 final held at Pretty Bay, Birżebbuġa.

The high-energy match kept a large crowd fully engaged from start to finish. Sliema dominated the early stages, racing to a 3–0 lead. However, Ħamrun fought back fiercely in the second half, gradually closing the gap and keeping the pressure on throughout.

Capitalising on key defensive mistakes, Sliema made the most of their scoring opportunities. Captain Matthew Agius, Saturday Nanapere, and Vincenzo Margiotta each netted twice, while an own goal by Ħamrun’s Chris Baker added to their tally.

Ħamrun stayed competitive with goals from Daniel Zerafa (2), Lee Joe Schembri, Tobi Hakiti, Nezar Abouaisha, and Chris Baker, making for a closely contested encounter.

Following the final whistle, Malta Beach Soccer Association president Mauro Camilleri presented the championship trophy to Sliema captain Matthew Agius.

The final was officiated by referees Andrea Naudi and Igor Kankaras.
