A 59-year-old diver is in critical condition after finding himself in difficulty in the Ċirkewwa diving area on Sunday.
Police said they were informed of the incident at around 9.00 am, with a medical team rushing to the scene.
The diver, a 59 year old Iklin resident, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and was certified as being in critical condition.
No further details were provided at the time.
Police investigations are ongoing, and Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading investigations into the incident.
