The Nationalist Party’s new populist triumvirate: Adrian Delia, Alex Borg and Franco Debono have repeatedly and consistently expressed their position against free speech in various ways.
Adrian Delia initiated a libel case against Lovin Malta and ran his first leadership campaign in opposition to Daphne Caruana Galizia. Franco Debono cried foul when Manuel Delia called him โa cancer,โ and Alex Borg supported his populist ally by echoing the view that the press should have limits. Franco Debono even said that the Nationalist Party’s problems will be resolved if it renounced Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Supporting this triumvirate of populist is Joe Giglio, the criminal lawyer who defended Pilatus Bank against the whistleblower, effectively giving a helping hand to Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri.
Franco Debono, on the other hand, is a criminal lawyer to a Libyan warlord and his legal partner is Yorgen Fenech’s lawyer: sources at the Court actually state that it’s Franco Debono who is doing most of Marion Camilleri’s work about Yorgen Fenech.
The Nationalist Party will be run and fronted by its worst elements, its populists and its opportunists and all of them have a strong aversion to the right to publish and free speech.
