Russia has fired up to 477 drones and up to 60 cruise and ballistic missiles at Ukrainian cities overnight including Lviv and Cherkas with up to dozens of civilians injured. At least six civilians were killed earlier this week in Kyiv by Russian drone attacks.
A Ukrainian pilot in an F-16 was also killed while targeting Russian missiles and drones. Uninformed reports state that missile debris hit his jet but an investigation is ongoing to derive the exact causes.
The fighter pilot Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko, was targeting Russian missiles in the air and hit 7 targets in total before crashing with his jet. The Russian missiles were fired by fighter bombers and warships in the Black Sea. Ukraine intercepted up to 475 of the targets detected.
Russia has considerably increased the volume and frequency of missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian cities since President Donald Trump entered office.
