Security contractors working for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have told the Associated Press that their colleagues are firing on Palestinians trying to reach aid at their sites. The whistleblower also told AP that the organisation is using unexperienced and non-professional employees for their security in Gaza.
The leaked comments follow other reports made by Israeli soldiers to Haaretz who claimed that they are also firing on Palestinians trying to reach aid at the GHF sites as a form of crowd control. A Palestinian-Canadian physician working at the Nasser Medical Complex said that number of casualties of Palestinians trying to reach aid at the sites of the GHF has reached up to 550 people.
Meanwhile, The Maltese Herald has technically reviewed a video clip published by the retired British Army Colonel Richard Kemp praising the work of the GHF at one of its sites. After praising the work of the GHF, gunfire is heard is in the background. According to our technical analysts, the sound of the gunfire is authentic and seems to be part of the original recording and has not been added with editing later on.
When confronted online about the sound of the gunfire, the Colonel simply replied by saying “It’s a war zone.”
