The Labour government is set to introduce euthanasia: no position yet by the Nationalist Party

Yesterday in a press conference, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced that the government will soon present an Euthanasia Bill in parliament, possibly even this week. Meanwhile, the Nationalist Party hasn’t even pronounced its official position on the matter

The Labour government has proposed the introduction of euthanasia after putting the lid on the discussion about multiple corruption scandals after abrogating the right of citizens to request a Magisterial Inquiry. The Labour Party has now shifted the political discussion and is on top of controlling the political agenda.

There are few opponents to the bill with Caritas being one of them, saying that any bill encouraging suicide for mental health patients should be unthinkable. ADPD and Moviment Graffitti are supporting the introduction of the proposal.

“no position yet by the Nationalist Party”

THIS is one of the reasons why Bernard Grech had to go.

This looks bad, really really bad. Its better to take a position right away even if its unpopular than it to have “no position”.

The PN especially since Bernard Grech always does this and it only makes the PN look even more irrelevant in the eyes of the voters.

Whoever is elected leader must end this culture of indecision that plagues the PN.

Im convinced this euthanasia thing is a ploy to take the property and assets of vulnerable elderly and then euthanise them just after signing off (by cohersion) their will in favour of the crooked doctors/lawyers/politicians who will get involved in this. Harold Shipman the serial killer doctor used to do this to some of his victims.
