Russia launched a record number of 728 drones, and an additional 14 missiles, against Ukrainian cities yesterday evening with Ukrainian air defence intercepting up to 711 of them. At least two civilians were killed and dozens others injured in Kyiv as the Shahed drones hit domiciles and apartments blocks.
President Trump withdrew weapons shipments and blocked arms sales to Ukraine, but he has promised to reverse his decision after he said that talks with Vladimir Putin were proving to be futile. Drone attacks against Ukrainian civilians have increased exponentially ever since President Trump entered office earlier this year.
Yesterday, in Germany’s parliament the Bundestag, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that all diplomatic solutions for the war in Ukraine have been exhausted and that Germany will keep supporting Ukraine despite opposition from both the left and the right in the German parliament. Chancellor Merz previously promised to give Ukraine long-range Taurus missiles but this deliveries have not been effected so far.
