Yesterday, on July 22nd, several power cuts took place across the Maltese islands although their duration was brief.
At around 4pm in the afternoon, a considerable part of Sliema lost power with electricity being restored around 45 minutes later.
There were also sporadic power cuts reported in Tarxien, Mqabba, Qormi, Birkirkara and Cospicua through the morning and afternoon. Consumers also reported voltage fluctuations in Senglea, Zejtun and Zabbar as well as Xghajra throughout the day.
A major power cut was reported in the evening at around 930pm in Ghaxaq, Zejtun, Marsaskala and Marsaxlokk. Power was restored to consumers around 30m later although some areas spent over an hour without power.
The temperature is expected to hit 41 degrees on Friday so one may expect power cuts in several localities as demand reaches record levels.
