Two men are being held under arrest after they were found in possession of different types of drugs, allegedly intended for sale, during the night in Paceville.
Police officers conducting patrols in the area noticed a man acting suspiciously. When stopped and searched, the man attempted to flee but was apprehended immediately. During the arrest, he acted aggressively toward the officers, resulting in two police officers sustaining minor injuries.
The man, a 32-year-old Jamaican national, was found to be carrying eight sachets of what is suspected to be cocaine and 20 sachets of suspected cannabis.
In a separate incident during the same night, police officers noticed another man acting suspiciously. A search revealed six sachets of suspected cannabis and a considerable amount of cash. The suspect, a 50-year-old Eritrean man, was arrested on the spot.
Both men are expected to be charged in court in the coming days.
