More than 100 aid trucks enter Gaza – United Nations

According to the United Nations, up to 100 aid trucks have entered Gaza today from Egypt after Israel announced a mobilisation of aid to Gaza. Israel has blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza since last March causing a famine and a rising infant mortality rate as a result.

The UN estimates that up to 600 trucks of aid are needed every day in Gaza to secure the basic needs of the population.

Unconfirmed reports state that aid trucks entering Gaza have also been swarmed by people and looted before arriving to their destination.

Meanwhile, Qatar has sent 49 trucks loaded with aid that have arrived in Jordan and are on their way to Gaza. The trucks are loaded with up to 4704 food parcels, 5000 units of baby formula, 174 tonnes of flour and 200 tonnes of food baskets.
