This morning at around 6:30 a.m., police were alerted to an incident requiring assistance along the Ta’ Xbiex waterfront.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 38-year-old man from Nepal found himself in difficulty while swimming, possibly after hitting his head on rocks and sustaining injuries.
A medical team provided assistance on site, and the man was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries and is in danger of losing his life.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
