Maccabi Tel Aviv greeted with Palestinian flags at Paola’s football stadium in uneventful game

Yesterday, Maccabi Tel Aviv were greeted by protesters with Palestinian flags at the Toni Bezzina Stadium in Paola as the team played against Hamrun Spartans in a UEFA Europa league game. Hamrun Spartans lost the game 2-1 with a goal in the last part of the game.

A massive Palestinian flag was unfurled on the bastion walls of Senglea overlooking the football stadium. Protesters included members of Moviment Graffitti and also ADPD – the Green Party.

Eyewitnesses said that there were only a handful of Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters and the game took place without incidents.
