This year’s record-breaking turtle nesting season continues to deliver wonderful news – the Ramla Bay nest in Gozo has now produced a total of 26 healthy loggerhead hatchlings!
Following the first emergence earlier this week, ERA and Nature Trust – FEE Malta officials carried out an excavation today to assess the nest’s status and confirm how many hatchlings made it safely to the sea. The results revealed 26 hatchlings in total, marking another important success in this remarkable season.
Just days ago, beachgoers witnessed 20 of these tiny turtles make their first journey under the moonlight, cheered on by on-site volunteers. Every hatchling is a victory for conservation and a reminder of the importance of keeping nesting areas dark, quiet, and undisturbed.
