Russian Shahed drone enters and crashes in Poland

Yesterday, on August 20th at around 2AM, a Russian Shahed drone entered and crashed near Warsaw, in a cornfield in the village of Osiny, the Łuków County of the Lublin Voivodeship. The Governor of the Lublin region, Krzysztof Komorski, confirmed that three buildings were damaged as a result of the crash.

The location of the crash is is approximately 100 km from the Ukrainian border, 90 km from Belarus, and 40–70 km from Warsaw.

Questions are being on how the drone successfully flew deep in Poland without being detected.

This is not the first time that Russian drones have crashed into neighbouring NATO countries of Belarus and Ukraine. Russia is also preparing major military exercises in Belarus that are expected to commence in the coming months.

The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that he will be lodging a formal protest.
