Poland confirms drones entered airspace but did not shoot them because they were no threat

At least two Russian drones entered Polish airspace on the sixth of September with one drone being, a Gerbera drone crashing into Poland while another drone is suspected to have kept flying to Ukraine where it crashed later. The Polish military confirmed that it did not shoot the drones because they posed no threat. The Gerbera drone is featured above.

This is not the first time that a Russian drones entered the Polish airspace but it is the first time that the Polish military is implying that it refused to shoot down a drone that was passing from its airspace and heading to Ukraine.

Russia has been increasing its drone incursions into the Baltics and Poland as it holds major military exercises in Belarus. However, in a recent interview with the Ukrainian press, the Ukrainian head of the intelligence services, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russia’s exercises in Belarus do not pose a threat and Russia is currently on a recruiting drive to send more men to “the meat grinder”.

Russia has been escalating its drone attacks against Ukraine and has launched up to 142 drones against Ukrainian cities late last night night with most of them being intercepted.
