Europe scrambles fighter jets to shoot down Russian drones in Poland

European states including Italy and Romania have scrambled their fighter jets to Poland to help the Polish air force shoot down Russian drones that have entered its airspace. This is not the first time that Russia flew drones through Poland to Ukraine but it is the first time that these drones are being shot down by Poland and European allies.

Russia’s drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian cities and civilians have reached record levels during this month. Yesterday, Russian struck a group of pensioners in Dontesk killing up to 24 people.
