Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has given a press conference condemning Israel’s attack on Doha, Qatar. Israel has conducted an attack on a building used by senior Hamas officials in Doha. Israel targeted a building used by senior Hamas officials involved in the ceasefire talks, including Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarinโbut the senior leaders survived. Those killed were members of al-Hayyaโs team: his son Humam al-Hayya, his office director Jihad Labad (Abu Bilal), and three bodyguards, and a Qatari security officer.
Hamas issued a statement saying that Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin have survived the attack. Hamas also reiterated its stance that Israel should engage in negotiations to withdraw from Gaza and continue prisoner exchanges.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the US did not give prior approval to the attack and said that Israel’s attack on Doha and Qatar’s sovereignty does not serve to achieve Israel’s and America’s goals.
