Some individuals have recently pointed out a strange coincidence: following Parliament’s approval of a law criminalising fake online profiles that spread disinformation, the accounts most immediately affected will in fact be the anonymous social media profiles associated with the Labour Party.
For years, some particular Labour activists have been running fake news and troll accounts, many of which remain active to this day. They are clearly operated by middle-aged or older men, who have become accustomed to using these accounts to create and circulate AI-generated slop. I also know some of these individuals behind these accounts.
The question now is: when will the Police actually move to shut these accounts down?
