Neville Gafa was at the Labour Party’s headquarters yesterday, back at doing “customer care” for the party. Basically, he’s meeting disgruntled Labour Party members who would be making requests for favours to the party over their personal affairs such as jobs and promotions.
He was also given access to a public office in Gozo by the Ministry of Social Affairs to do the same thing.
Many consider this move as a sign that the Labour Party is preparing for elections. Neville Gafa has been ostracised from official party activity ever since Randolph Debattista kicked him out in 2018. Lately, he has been praising the Police Commissioner and the Attorney General after they allowed him to get away with accusations of visa fraud and also granting immunity to his political masters, Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri.
The Labour Party is heading to the next elections with the looming shadow of Joseph Muscat over it and it’s not making any efforts to avoid it. It’s just yet another reminder that Joseph Muscat’s criminal network still holds a significant degree of influence and power over Labour. Voting against Labour in the next election is also a vote against Joseph Muscat’s ongoing rehabilitation, his influence over Labour and his potential return to politics.
