One of the hallmarks of the current Labour government is that Prime Minister Robert Abela has decided to run the country with a series of very vile and incompetent individuals like Jason Micallef. Jason Micallef is popular mainly for his vile and vexatious rhetoric against Labour Party critics and his consecutive mythical failures as Secretary-General of the Labour Party. He is also part of Joseph Muscat’s faction inside Labour.
Now he is taking to Court a podcaster, Trudy Kerr, who published a video showing a green picnic area in Ta’ Qali which was covered in gravel. Jason Micallef is officially the public gardener of Ta’ Qali National Park.
I don’t know what the libel case is all about. Jason Micallef himself uploaded a video showing the green area covered with dust and gravel saying that he did this to protect the soil.
So, he did actually cover a green area with dust and gravel. Jason Micallef seems to be initating a libel suit simply to bully his critics as is typical of him.
His diatribes against government critics usually sound like the demented ramblings of an elderly man, equivalent to the meme of the old man shouting at the sun. As Secretary-General of the Labour Party, he was responsible for multiple election losses and running the party to the ground, and now he is renewing his tradition of spreading his toxic waste in Labour as supposedly, a veteran influencer in the Labour Party.
Under Robert Abela, the Labour Party could have empowered a new generation of activists and bureaucrats who could have turned a new leaf for the party and pushed it forward. Instead, Robert Abela is taking it backward by empowering the same people who kept milking the gravy train of Labour Party in government by contributing little to nothing at all to the party. Back to the past we go.
