One News is currently broadcasting propaganda clips for the Nationalist Party as Alex Borg takes their stupid questions with very calm but swift and incisive responses. He’s clearly someone who can fight and knows how to talk back without feeling intimidated and somehow he is managing the local political arena pretty much to his advantage.
Note that we wrote that Alex Borg is being backed by very experienced veterans in Maltese politics and those around him seem to be giving him the right political advice, but this does not necessarily policy either.
The feature clip below is about an upcoming rule-of-law debate about Malta. The European Parliament regularly holds debates on the state of rule-of-law of member states and it is also relevant to many EU directives. The Labour Party pretends that local MEPs don’t criticise the government in the European Parliament—a preposterous idea, since the Parliament is a people’s forum, not a vehicle for the government’s interests; those are represented by the country’s executive at the European Council.
