Labour Party President calls on party dissidents to return

Earlier today during the Labour Party’s Annual General Conference, the Labour Party President Alex Sciberras called on Jennifer Tabone and party dissidents to return to the party. He said that the Labour Party still upholds its fundamental values and that the party is still the natural home to all of those who have left.

Jennifer Tabone resigned from the Labour Party last week. She was a regular and internal critic against government corruption and the influence of the construction lobby over the party at the expense of the environment. Another resignation took place e4arleir this month with Manolita Camilleri resigning from the local party committee of Żejtun.

The Labour Party President also passed a surprise motion during his speech, proposing Joe Debono Grech to be made a delegate for life: a proposal which was welcomed with resounding applause by the delegates.

He said that his mission in the party is to preserve the fundamental ideas of the Labour Party and to communicate these ideas and values to its members and delegates.
