New footage and multiple videos have emerged of the Rapid Support Forces conducting massacres in Al-Fashir as they keep making military gains in the besieged and lonesome city. The footage has been captured by the RSF themselves who have a habit of bragging about their war crimes. The RSF are also increasingly using drones to target the city and its civilians.
The city of up to 300,000 people has been besieged for more than a year with its civilians suffering hunger and constant attacks. The civilian population of Al-Fashir also risks being ethnically cleansed by the genocidal-RSF if the RSF takes over the city. The RSF has perpetuated a massacre in Zamzam after it took control of its refugee camp.
Meanwhile, ever since this article was published, more Colombian mercenaries have arrived in Nyala, Sudan. Colombian President Gustavo Petro pledged to ban the practice months ago but no effective action has been taken since then.
In early September, RSF militiaman Al-Sakka from Zalingei in Central Darfur tortured Qisma Ali Omar by tying her arms to an outward-looking tree branch. He recorded the brutal act of torture and in the video said “I am Al Sakka from Zalingei. This is how we deal with traitors.” Since this brutal act took place, the RSF are now repeating this act unto several civilians in Darfur and filming each act.
Multiple footage has recently emerged of the RSF killing civilians who exit and enter the city. More than a dozen civilians are shot in two videos recently taken in Al-Fashir. Men are shown returning to the city after trekking long distances out and back to bring in supplies, stopped by the RSF, interrogated and the massacred at the spot.
