The UAE-backed, genocidal militia in Darfur, the Rapid Support Forces have been very prompt in uploading the footage of their war crimes as they take control of the besieged capital city of North Darfur, Al-Fashir. The RSF regularly commit massacres against Sudanese civilians whom they considered as Black and non-Arab, often describing all the non-Arab ethnicities and tribes as “Nuba”.
The RSF have also kidnapped Al-Fashir’s most prominent journalist Muammar Ibrahim. His state and condition is currently unknown. Massacres against civilians have been ongoing since last week, but the RSF have been perpetuating massacres against the citizens of the besieged city through this year with multiple attacks.
Concerns are rising that many civilians will be killed and many women raped as the RSF take control over the city. Many citizens are at risk because the city is surrounded by the genocidal militia and the citizens have nowhere to go. Fears are growing that the massacres perpetuated by the RSF will be more than extensive than the massacre committed in Zamzam.
The RSF, previously known as the Janjaweed militias were responsible for the Darfur genocide from 2003 to 2008 during which it killed from 300,000 to 500,000 civilians.
