The Enemed Cup 2026 continued in style on Tuesday, 11 November, with two thrilling fixtures at the National Pool, Tal-Qroqq, as Marsaskala and Exiles Welbee’s both claimed emphatic wins to strengthen their positions in the competition.
Marsaskala Overpower Ta’ Xbiex Amigos (19–7)
Marsaskala produced a commanding performance to cruise past Ta’ Xbiex Amigos 19–7, showcasing their attacking depth and sharp finishing.
Ta’ Xbiex took an early lead through Jack Zammit, but Marsaskala quickly settled into rhythm. Jamie Pace Mizzi and Dean Ciantar both netted hat-tricks, while Jake Simpson and Marco Mannino added to the tally. Thomas Camilleri, Craig Harrison, CJ Saliba, and Nick Rizzo also got their names on the scoresheet.
Despite efforts from Julian Farrugia, Jan Culic, Zion Bartolo, and Caiden Busuttil, who all struck for Ta’ Xbiex, Marsaskala’s relentless pace and clinical precision proved decisive — particularly in the final quarter, where they scored nine unanswered goals to seal a dominant victory.
Exiles Welbee’s Cruise Past Barracudas (18–8)
Later in the evening, Exiles Welbee’s delivered an equally commanding performance, defeating Barracudas 18–8 in a fast-paced encounter.
Captain Kurt Gristi and Francesco Scardino led by example, both scoring four goals, while Matteo Martellaci, Nathan Bonavia, and Mark Fenech each added doubles. David Pace Lupi, Gianni Schembri, Kyle Navarro, and Max Paris Roding rounded off the scoring for Exiles.
For Barracudas, Liam Purshouse was the standout performer with four goals, supported by Giulio Massa, William Ruggier, and Andrew Magri.
Exiles Welbee’s established control from the opening whistle, racing to a 6–0 first-quarter lead and never looking back. Their defensive solidity and swift counterattacks underlined their growing confidence as one of the tournament’s in-form sides.
Both Marsaskala and Exiles Welbee’s have now underlined their credentials as serious contenders in the Enemed Cup 2026, with performances that combined teamwork, discipline, and clinical finishing — setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the competition.
