The Labour Party will be hosting the General Council of the Socialist International late this week. This was announced by Deputy-Leader Alex Agius Saliba and International Secretary John Grech. Agius Saliba said that Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez will also be present.
The Labour Party rejoined the Socialist International last year after the Spanish Premier began to revive the previously deadbeat organisation. The organisation has become increasingly active thanks to Premier Sanchez but is still stuck in its closing era, serving mainly as a talking shop for African socialist parties that have little to no relevance back home in Africa. Most major European left-wing parties, including the UK Labour Party and the German SPD are no longer members.
In order to fit in with the current crowd of the Socialist International, the Labour Party is adapting its concepts to Third Worldism ideology. The LAbour Party’s International Secretary, John Grech, pandered about the concepts of “neutrality” and “peace” which is a common theme with pro-Russian political parties in Africa and worldwide.
On the other hand, Premier Pedro Sanchez’s socialist and communist international advocacy is more genuine. Premier Sanchez ideologically believes that Spain and his socialist allies should not work more with each other under China’s domineering shadow of global socialism. In other works Premier Sanchez is not just seeking Chinese ties out of commercial opportunism, but he is ideologically motivated to bring socialist parties and socialists states together to re-emerge once again as a global political force and trend.
