Man and two women hospitalised after two separate traffic accidents in Pietà and St Julian’s

A man and two women were taken to Mater Dei Hospital after being injured in two separate traffic accidents reported in Pietà and St Julian’s.

The first incident occurred on Thursday at around 2:00 p.m. in Triq San Luqa, Pietà. Preliminary investigations found that a collision took place between a Honda motorcycle ridden by a 44-year-old man from Pietà and a Kia Picanto driven by a 54-year-old woman from Pembroke.

The second accident happened early Friday morning, at around 1:00 a.m., in Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, St Julian’s. Police said a Mini Cooper D driven by a 45-year-old French woman residing in Sliema collided with an Audi Q2 driven by a 38-year-old woman from Tarxien. Another French woman, aged 49 and also living in Sliema, was a passenger in the Mini.

Medical teams assisted at both scenes, and the injured – the 44-year-old man, the 38-year-old woman, and the 49-year-old passenger – were taken to hospital by ambulance. The man and the 49-year-old woman were later certified as seriously injured, while the 38-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.

Police investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
