The new social inequality brought by the Labour Party (part 2)

In this article, we discussed how the Labour Party is effectively building an economic and fiscal system that is supportive of home-owners and pensioners and this support is being sustained by the workforce. Effectively, the Labour Party is creating a historical inequality gap between generations as young generations face economic challenges with the housing affordability crisis

This gap is exacerbated between the young generations who remain out oft he property market and the older generations who have owned their property in their early years. There is effectively a new underclass of Maltese emerging who are completely priced out of the property market and this segment will only increase, with the members of this segment to grow exponentially poorer in the coming years.

The younger generations who have successfully acquired a property today, have basically reduced their risk of poverty significantly. Those who continually remain without any assets or a property will increasingly become poorer. This is an economic trend worldwide and it is also happening in Malta. Labour has not successfully avoided this trend despite its constant bragging about being the best economy in Europe. This is a very simple and basic economic fact that requires very childish-level of understanding of economics:ย  just because you have great economic growth, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the economic conditions are better than the economic power that is currently in recession.

The Labour Party is building a society for itself and is excluding those who are smart and different. However, Labour is beginning to exclude members of its very social base it traditionally sought the support from and under current economic conditions, Labour can only address the economic plight of this underclass by issuing government jobs and favours. This underclass will become ever more dependent on Labour and effectively Labour is creating a new underclass who are dependent on government help just to survive.

These topics are rarely discussed because they are taboo, just like the subject that was discussed previously: if you point out at the level of ignorance and illiteracy of Labour Party supporters, they will accuse you of “elitism” and “classism” but it is in fact Labour which is being classist, by lowering the expectations it has of the Maltese people,ย  running propaganda campaigns of lies that promote ignorance in society, and expecting the Maltese to remain stupid. Having a desire for your population be smarter and more intelligent is “classist” and a direct and hostile act against the Labour Party which thrives on ignorance.

Here we have another similar case in which discussion is taboo because it offends Labour and it supporters. Labour has created a new and rapidly growing underclass that is dependent on the government to survive and this underclass can be addressed with systematic work in the economic and the housing market. Labour on the other hand prefers an audience which believes any kind of garbage it throws out in Super ONE.

Ultimately, Labour has adopted an economic model in which the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Labour doesn’t have many choices, and this is not entirely its fault given the international trends, but Labour is ignoring this elephant in the room because it wants to convince people at all costs that it is doing a very good job. The gap between those who have assets and those who don’t is going to increase dramatically with very serious negative social consequences. We have just begun.
