The Kurdish armed-forces in north-eastern Syria, the Syrian Demcoratic Forces (SDF) are preparing for battle after the Turkish Army has entered Syria with military convoys in the direction of Afrin, Aleppo, Ras Al-Ayn and possibly also Manbij. Syrian government forces have seen moving in the direction of Dejr ez-Zor while the SDF has been spotted in Humvees and APCs moving towards Raqqa, Taqba, Dejr ฤฆafir and Manbij.
Plans for the SDF to integrate with the Syrian Army have failed with the SDF aiming on decentralisation. The SDF are not genuinely interested in forming part of the Syrian state with its leadership aspiring for a separate Kurdish state, causing as a result an inevitable showdown with the Syrian government. Turkey is demanding for the immediate disbandment of the SDF.
The military showdown is taking place just as Syrians celebrate the one-year anniversary of the fall Bashar al-Assad.
Below is footage of the Turkish convoy, Syrian government convoy and the Kurdish convoy.
