Staff meeting called at Saint Aloysius College over press story: parents remain defensive of the sacked Rector

Staff at Saint Aloysius’ College have been called for a meeting today and were ordered not to divulge any details to the press in relation to the story published yesterday by The Maltese Herald. The College’s administrators gave a statement to Times of Malta, yesterday, denying our story but did not divulge any details.

We did not receive any denials or statements.

Sources at the College have once again confirmed the story and said that the administration had broached this issue with the previous Rector, and that it was the reason for her dismissal. Parents have remained defensive of the former Rector, saying that the school was in desperate need of an uplift and that the College administration has consistently been frugal when it comes to classroom and school conditions. Parents also said that this frugality has left the school in a shabby and dilapidated state.

Maria Montebello could not be reached for comment.
