Haley Bugeja continues to rise among Europe’s Elite Goalscorers

Haley Bugeja has once again confirmed her standing as one of Europe’s most promising attacking talents after finishing just outside the top 30 in the IFFHS 2025 International Women’s Goalscorers ranking. The 21-year-old Maltese forward registered a total of seven international goals over the year, scoring four times for Inter and adding a further three goals for the Malta women’s national team.

The prestigious ranking was topped by Spain’s Claudia Pina, who finished the year with 18 goals, and featured a host of established global stars such as Alessia Russo, Alexia Putellas, Vivianne Miedema and Pernille Harder. Bugeja’s proximity to such elite company at such a young age highlights the rapid progress she has made and her growing influence on the international scene.

At club level, Bugeja has impressed in Serie A Femminile with Inter, where her strength, speed and natural finishing ability have made her a constant threat. Her impact has been equally significant with the Malta national team, where her goals and performances have played a key role in raising the team’s attacking profile and competitiveness.

Her inclusion near the top of the IFFHS standings marks another important milestone in a career that continues to gather momentum. As the new year unfolds, expectations around Bugeja remain high, and if her upward trajectory continues, the Maltese striker could soon move from being close to the world’s elite to directly challenging the very best.
