Watch: The US strikes Venezuela: Maduro captured and flown out of the country and indicted in New York

UPDATED: President Donald Trump issued a photo of Noclas Maduro while on board the USS Iwo Jima.

UPDATED: Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been indicted in the Southern District of New York over charged of Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States.

UPDATED: Surrounded by armed police and military officers, Venezuela’s Minister for Interior and Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello said that the government is still in control and called for calm in Venezuela.

UPDATED: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been captured by the US forces and flown out of the country. US troops are also on the ground in Venezuela. Venezuela Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino López state in a press conference that Venezuela will not surrender and will be fighting back.

US airstrikes against Venezuela have been reported early morning with strikes taking place in Caracas and La Guairá. Previously, flights to Venezuela were cancelled in anticipation of the attacks. Initial reports state that strikes targeted weapons depots.

The United States is pressuring Venezuela’s dictator, Nicolás Maduro to resign. Maduro defrauded the elections and declared a fake election victory. The US has been striking Venezuela narco-traffickers in the Caribbean Sea, but US security interests go beyond narco-trafficking with Venezuela hosting contingents of Russian troops and military officials. Venezuela is also the major supplier of oil to its ally Cuba, and has been engaged in illegal oil trading with Russia and Iran.
