Two motorcyclists were rushed to Mater Dei Hospital after being seriously injured in two unrelated traffic accidents that occurred earlier today in different parts of the island, police confirmed.
The first accident took place at around 7.30am in Triq il-Belt Valletta, Żurrieq. Initial police investigations show that a Toyota Tercel driven by a 42-year-old man from Mosta was involved in a collision with a Honda WW125 motorcycle ridden by a 28-year-old man who resides in Żurrieq.
A short time later, at approximately 8.00am, a second incident was reported in Triq Wied iz-Ziju, Wied il-Għajn. According to preliminary findings, a 36-year-old Bangladeshi national living in the area lost control of his Vogue 300AC motorcycle and fell onto the roadway.
Medical teams were dispatched to both scenes to provide immediate assistance. The injured motorcyclists were subsequently taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where doctors certified that they had sustained serious injuries.
Police investigations into both accidents are still ongoing.
