BREAKING: Opposition Leader says that Prime Minister breached protocol and didn’t inform him about the Chief Justice’s nomination

Speaking live during the discussion show Il-Każin, Opposition Leader Alex Borg said that the Prime Minister didn’t inform him in advance of his nomination of Judge Consuleo Scerri Herrera for Chief Justice. The Nationalist Party Leader also said that it was protocol for private discussions to be held in order to arrive at a compromise before any nominations are made.

The Prime Minister choose to violate the parliamentary custom to blatantly propose a Labour Party candidate for Chief Justice. The Opposition Leader didn’t confirm the position of his party yet.
