Israel has officially opened the Rafah Crossing today but has not permitted any vehicles to cross other than some fuel trucks. Aid trucks and ambulances are still lined up in Egypt waiting to cross the crossing into Gaza. Israel has bombed Gaza during the weekend.
Israel will allow 150 Palestinians every day to exit Gaza and 50 Palestinians into Gaza per day. Only those who need immediate medical attention are allowed to leave and are allowed to take two people to assist them.
Israel also retains control of the crossing and will check all vehicles and individuals at the crossing. Egypt will also be assisting in checks on its side of the border.
