Israel renews heavy bombardment of Gaza after months of calm

Israel has renewed heavy aerial bombardment of Gaza bombing both Kahn Younis in the south and Gaza City in the north killing more than 20 people during the weekend. Tent areas hosting displaced people were targeted including in Al-Mawasai and areas in Khan Younis such as the Al-Aqsa University area. Israel also conducted raids on southern Lebanon.

Heavy aerial bombings took a pause after the US-brokered ceasefire, but Israel has repeatedly stated it intended to renew its military operations. Israel’s bombings have disrupted daily life in Gaza which was slowly returning back to normal with civilians also beginning to rebuild and repair their homes.

Up to 500 people were murdered and killed in Gaza since the ceasefire both by Israel and Hamas who are purging their opponents. Hamas is also refusing to disarm and handover administration.

Meanwhile, in the State of Palestine (West Bank), Israeli raids and military operations are also stepping up along with increasing pogroms by Israeli settlers expelling Palestinians from their lands in areas such as Qusra and Jalud.
