Pop Singer Neil Sedaka passes away, aged 86

Famed pop singer Neil Sedaka has passed away at the age of 86. He was best known for hits such as the 1961 classic “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and the 1960 chart-topper “Calendar Girl,” among many others.

Sedaka began his career in 1957 and went on to sell millions of records worldwide. He also wrote over 500 songs for himself and other artists, leaving a lasting mark on the music industry.

He is survived by his wife and two adult children.
