Russia strikes strikes residential buildings in Odessa: Ukraine signs defence agreement with Saudi Arabia

Several residential buildings, including potentially a maternity hospital have been struck by a Russian drones as Russia launched more than hundreds of drones at Ukrainian cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Odessa. This would not be the first time that Russia has hit struck a maternity hospital in Odessa.

Ukraine intercepted most of the drones launched by Russia despite lacking enough anti-air defences. Ukraine is still waiting for the release of the EU’s โ‚ฌ90 billion after this was vetoed by Hungary.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has kept up its attacks against Russian oil industry sites including in the port terminals of Primorsk and Ust-Luga.

On Friday, President Volodymyr Zelensky travelled with a delegation to Saudi Arabia to sign a defence agremeent with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have both sought Ukraine’s expertise to counter Iran’s Shahed drones which are currently being used by Iran against them. Russia launched daily attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure with its Iranian Shahed variants.
