The Iranian delegation set to hold negotiations with the US administration has arrived in Islamabad with talks set to start tomorrow. The delegation was escorted from Iran by the Pakistani Air-Force. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi is present.
The Iranian regime has submitted its preconditions for negotiations before the arriving in Pakistan while the US has also made its demands which include the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is demanding the unfreezing of assets and an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon as a preconditi0n. They are also demanding sanctions-relief for a long-term peace agreement.
US officials speaking to The New York Times said that the Strait of Hormuz may not be open anytime soon after the Iranians mined the Strait with the regime being unaware of the exact location of the mines.
However, it is only the Omani side of the strait which is currently closed with the Iranian side of the strait currently open. The ordinary shipping route to the entrance of the strait before the war started was through the Omani side of the strait.
Airstrikes on Iran have completely subsided while Iran has also seized its attacks on the Gulf states. Israel is still striking Lebanon with separate talks on a ceasefire in Lebanon scheduled in Washington next week. According to the Lebanese government, the total death toll has reached up to 1953 persons.
