Earlier today at the informal EU Council meeting in Cyprus, the European Commission and the European Parliament agreed on the proposed legislative agenda that will be implemented up until 2027. The legislative plan is one of the most ambitious plans in EU history marking a major push towards global trade, major innovation and investments in tech, the banking union, the digital Euro, labour reforms, leaner and more simplified business regulations, and further enhancement of the European energy grid among other proposals.
The plan has been dubbed as “One Europe, One Market”. with the major objective behind these reforms is to complete the European single-market. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also said that the EU will embark on a major electrification plan of Europe as part of its planned reforms and initiatives in the energy sector.
European leaders also held a session with leaders of Arab-Near East countries to discuss the ongoing regional conflicts. In his press conference, President Emmanuel Macron reiterated that Israel had to withdraw from Lebanon immediately and stop triggering conflicts with its territorial expansion.
