Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the Americans to execute the deal they brokered with Russia and ensure the exchange of 1000 prisoners-of-war with Russia. The exchange is part of a Victory Day ceasefire agreement agreed between Russia and Ukriane via the US administration.
Vladimir Putin announced that he wasn’t going to fulfill his side of the deal by handing over the prisoners following Moscow’s Victory Day Parade.
US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are also on their way to Russia for further talks with Vladimir Putin. The pair have been negotiating with Russia to pressure Ukraine to capitulate with Russia demanding the whole Donbas region. Ukraine is refusing to concede to this demand.
The Ukrainian President also said that Russia violated their ceasefire agreement with up to 150 different assaults across the Ukrainian frontline.
Russia’s Victory Day Parade took place without any incident after Vladimir Putin requested to organise the parade without any Ukrainian drone attacks. The parade took place without any armour as Russia’s war effort continues to be stretched beyond Russia’s own means.
