Iran has fired up to ten ballistic missiles at Israel, targeting northern Israel with most of them being intercepted. This is the first time that Iran has fired ballistic missiles at Israel since the start of the war against Iran in April.
The Iranian regime fired the missiles in retaliation against Israel’s attacks in Lebanon which have continued during the weekend.
US President Donald Trump said that he will be calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to retaliate against the attack as he attempts to strike a deal with the Iranian regime.
Last week, US press reports such as Axios, reported that the US President had a very tense call with the Israeli Prime Minister in which he allegedly called “Fucking crazy” for re-starting hostilities in Lebanon. Iran is insisting that the ceasefire should apply to Lebanon, while Israel disagrees with this.
There is yet no deal over the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz as Iran is insisting on its authority to impose tolls on ships passing through the strait. Last week, Iran fired missiles at Kuwait and Bahrain. Both sides of the Strait of Hormuz remain blocked and blockaded by both Iran and the US.
