The NSO has today issued statistics confirming previously released Eurostat statistics showing that the labour market has continued growing this year. During the first quarter of this year, the labour market grew up to 333,682 persons, 3.3% higher than the previous quarter.
The increase in employment is also a strong factor of our economic growth.
The increase in the labour force was also accompanied by an increase in salaries. The average monthly salary for all employees has been recorded at €2,270, which is higher than the same quarter of 2025 at €2,063 and higher than the last quarter at €2,146.
13.2% of those in employment registered as self-employed. The majority of all employed persons worked on a full-time basis and amounted to 294,973, while 38,709 had a part-time job as their primary employment. Average working hours for full-time persons has been registered at 37 hours while for part-time employees it was registered at 19.8 hours.
Average monthly salary varied from €1,410 among persons employed in elementary occupations to €3,628 among managers.
