Fears rise of a repeat of Al-Fashir in El Obeid, Sudan

Fears are increasing that the genocidal terrorist group in Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces, will repeat a genocidal massacre in the Sudanese city of North Kordofan in the North Kordofan region. The United Nations is calling on international actors to intervene and prevent another massacre of civilians.

The European Union has also released a brief statement calling on the RSF to stop its assault on the city. The city is currently being besieged by UAE-supplied drones by the RSF and the civilian death tool is rising. The RSF have targeted civilian infrastructure in the city including its power plants. Up to 500,000 civilians remain trapped in the city.

Late last year, the RSF committed a massacre in Al-Fashir after capturing the city, killing tens of thousands of civilians and raping many women and girls. The genocidal terrorist group is sponsored and supplied by the United Arab Emirates.

Despite calls by the EU and European states, including the UK, urging the RSF to stop its massacres, EU and European relations with the UAE remain unaffected. The UAE’s ruler, Mohammed bin-Zayed was welcomed warmly at the G7 in France.
