The Malta men’s national hockey team is preparing to compete in the EuroHockey Championship II Qualifiers 2026, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from 9 to 12 July.
Drawn in Pool B, Malta will face hosts Finland, Greece, and Gibraltar in what promises to be a highly competitive group, with every result playing a significant role in deciding the final standings.
Malta will open its campaign on 9 July against Greece, before taking on tournament hosts Finland on 10 July. The group stage concludes on 11 July, when the Maltese side meets Gibraltar in its final pool fixture.
The team’s final match of the tournament will take place on 12 July, with the classification fixtures determining the final rankings. Depending on their group-stage performance, Malta will compete for either fifth and sixth place, third and fourth place, or a place in the championship final should they finish top of Pool B.
The tournament represents another important milestone for Maltese hockey, providing the national team with the opportunity to compete against strong European opposition while continuing to build experience on the international stage.
With a talented squad and a determined approach, Malta will be aiming to deliver consistent performances throughout the four-day competition and proudly represent the country as they seek a successful campaign in Helsinki.
