A sense of entitlement, arrogance and alleged corrupt practices: the downfall of Alex Agius Saliba’s leadership ambitions

The unusual voting result at the Labour Party’s general conference, where Alex Agius Saliba was confirmed as Deputy Leader, has shattered any ambitions he may have had of becoming the party’s next leader. Labour Party delegates have complained about his arrogance and sense of entitlement—and who can blame them?

Alex Agius Saliba has barely ever held a conventional job and has done little in his life to demonstrate that he is capable of leading or managing anything beyond his own bedroom.

In addition, Labour Party insiders have raised concerns about his alleged involvement in corrupt practices benefiting his supporters, including the proposed sale of a public property to an employee of the Housing Authority. It may therefore be pertinent to examine any correspondence he may have had with Leonid McKay regarding this scandal, as well as any private pressure he may have exerted in relation to the case.

Alex Agius Saliba is the epitome of someone who is unemployable. His rapid rise in politics has given him an excessive sense of entitlement, compounded by considerable arrogance. Some Labour Party delegates appear to have finally recognised these facts.
