Marsaskala Fish & Fish, Ta’ Xbiex Amigos and Neptunes Best Gyms Malta all claimed comfortable victories as Match Day 9 of the BOV Summer League got under way at the National Pool Complex in Tal-Qroqq on Tuesday.
The evening produced three high-scoring encounters, with the winning teams all pulling away in the closing stages to strengthen their respective league campaigns.
Marsaskala opened the programme with a 19-13 victory over Barracudas, producing a strong attacking display to secure the six-goal win.
Ta’ Xbiex then matched that result in the second fixture of the evening, overcoming Otters Nivea 19-13. Ta’ Xbiex were clinical in front of goal and maintained control throughout to collect another valuable three points.
The standout result of the night came in the final match, where Neptunes Best Gyms Malta delivered an emphatic performance to defeat Exiles Welbee’s 23-12.
Neptunes’ powerful attacking display proved too much for Exiles, with the former asserting their superiority throughout the contest to record the biggest victory of the round so far.
Attention now turns to Wednesday’s remaining Match Day 9 fixtures.
Birลผebbuฤกa face Marsaxlokk MFF Ltd at 6.00pm before Valletta Peak Insurance Brokers take on Sliema Nexawin at 7.15pm.
The round concludes with a mouth-watering clash between Sirens Build Fitness and San Giljan MAA Daikin at 8.30pm, a fixture that could have a significant bearing on the race at the top of the BOV Summer League standings.
