Retail Price Index confirms inflation trends although inflation still lagging

The Retail Price Index as issued by the NSO has confirmed the ongoing inflation trends with overall inflation going lower in June from 2.6% to 2.5% with housing and food leading inflation higher.

The RPI is aligned with the results of the HICP which also shows inflation to go down in the month of June.

Inflation is however estimated to go higher again for the month of July due to the renewed war in the Persian Gulf which is also aligned with the latest ECB interest rate increase.
