Yesterday in court, during the ongoing trial of Yorgen Fenech, corrupt criminal Keith Schembri said that Fenech had hinted to him that he had murdered Daphne Caruana Galizia. Why Schembri would say this and throw his former friend completely under the bus is just the latest in a series of tit-for-tat accusations between Yorgen Fenech and Keith Schembri over who was responsible for the journalist’s murder and who had originally commissioned it.
However, as often happens in these kinds of Mafia trials, testimonies, arguments and diatribes during court sessions frequently lead to numerous revelations and mistakes, rather than the usual omertà omissions
Keith Schembri should now explain how and why he was involved in corruption schemes with someone he knew he was a murderer, apart from sharing sensitive Police information with him and also protecting him via Silvio Valletta.
It is important to note that Yorgen Fenech allegedly had Daphne Caruana Galizia killed because of her most significant investigation and story, which concerned Electrogas. Electrogas was Joseph Muscat’s corruption project, executed by Keith Schembri through Yorgen Fenech.
It would also be interesting to ask Keith Schembri towards whom he and Yorgen Fenech shared such animosity, as documented in a photograph of both of them giving the middle finger to a toilet. Another interesting matter to ask Keith Schembri about is his mock funeral at Castille following the news of her murder, which is remembered by various former ministers, as well as by his close employees and associates.
