UPDATED: Suspected rock fall in Munxar Bay

Updated. It seems that there was a false alarm at Marsaskala in the Munxar area where someone was suspected to have fallen off a cliff. Police and the AFM were in the area.

A search operation in the St Thomas Bay area of Marsaskala was called off after authorities determined that an initial report of a person falling from a cliff was a false alarm.

Emergency services were mobilised following reports that someone may have plunged from the cliffs after a scooter was spotted below.

However, further investigations revealed that the scooter had simply been dumped over the cliff, with no indication that anyone had fallen.

The operation involved an Armed Forces of Malta P21 patrol vessel, Civil Protection Department units, ambulances and police officers before the search was officially terminated.
